Abstract : Local leadership is one of the important factors for the establishment of any factory. For the establishment of Halasugar factory, the role played by the local leaders like Late Shriyuts Baburao Balwant Patil, Budihalkar, Malagouda Hari Patil, Somashekar Rudrappa Kothiwale, Appasaheb Shivappa Kurbetti, Jagadish S. Dhole, Indrajit Appasaheb Nimbalkar and also the District Commissioner Anirudha Desai in initiating and encouraging the farmers for establishing the co- operative sugar factory in their own area cannot be neglected.
