Abstract : Adil Shahi Sultanate of Bijapur had ruled for a period of 200 years. A populated, productive and well-administered hinterland, control on the ports on both coast, easy communication between ports and interior markets, advantage of trade and access to overseas market were the key points behind the trade potential of sultanate.
